The cause of earthquake which was inside the ground some kilometers underground was not part of the Enriquillo Plantain Garden Fault zone (EPG FZ) but it was new rupture on a new fault line under Leogane city, called Leogane fault. It was the new fault zone of earthquake that occurred. It was meant that the point where the earthquake occurred was in a fault line.

Indeed, the complexity of the fault zone Haiti was residing plus the poor condition of the nation had delivered to the largest effects.
